By accessing or using Quest of Knowledge at https://questofknowledge.app ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will update the "Last updated" date when changes are made. Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Description of Service

Quest of Knowledge is a free, browser-based RPG quiz adventure game. The Service allows registered users to:

• Create and manage a player profile
• Play trivia-based dungeon battles
• Earn virtual experience points (XP) and gold (no real monetary value)
• Compete on a global leaderboard

3. Eligibility and Account Registration

You must be at least 13 years of age to use Quest of Knowledge. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

The Service uses Google OAuth for authentication. By signing in, you authorize Quest of Knowledge to access certain information from your Google account as described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. Quest of Knowledge is not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized use of your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Use automated scripts, bots, or tools to manipulate gameplay or leaderboard scores
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Engage in any activity that disrupts or interferes with the Service
• Use the Service to distribute spam, malware, or harmful content
• Exploit bugs or vulnerabilities to gain unfair advantages (please report them to us instead)

5. Username and Public Profile

Your chosen username and avatar will be displayed publicly on the global leaderboard and within the game. By creating a username, you grant Quest of Knowledge a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display it on the Service.

You agree not to use usernames that are offensive, harassing, impersonate others, or violate any law. We reserve the right to change or remove any username at our discretion.

6. Virtual Items and Currency

The Service awards virtual currency (gold) and experience points (XP) as part of gameplay. These virtual items have no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged for real money or transferred between accounts.

We reserve the right to adjust, reset, or remove virtual items and progression at any time for game balance, maintenance, or other operational reasons.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on the Service — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, game mechanics, question content, code, and design — is the property of Quest of Knowledge and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works based on our content without our prior written permission.

8. Advertising

The Service displays advertisements on public pages through Google AdSense. By using the public portions of our website, you acknowledge and consent to the display of these advertisements. Advertisements are not displayed within the authenticated game experience.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE.

The educational content, trivia questions, and other information in the Service are provided for entertainment and informational purposes only. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currentness of any content.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, QUEST OF KNOWLEDGE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.
